Types of Screed Floors
- Bonded Fibre Screed.

- The Recommended thickness of fibre screed is 50mm ( 2 inches ) on solid backrounds such as concrete
- 75mm when it is going to be layed on top of insulation and also underfloor heating. This is what is called a floating floor.
Screed floors which are layed on top of insulation and underfloor heating are called unbonded floors, and the insulation must be taped at joints and also covered with 1200 gauge Damp Proof Membrane ( DPM ) to prevent cracking of screed if there is any movement in joints of insulation.
